PRESENTATION DU PROJECT

TechTron Presentation Du Project Exhibitions and Competition will strengthen the national development in the field of Engineering and Information Technology and give a chance to students to prove their technical innovational talent.
The Department of Electronic Engineering of NED University of Engineering & Technology will give a golden opportunity to all prestigious organizations to take part in the Project Exhibition and competition and put their share in the national development process. The goal of this is to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

Venue: FOUNTAIN AREA (OPPOSITE NED MAIN AUDITORIUM)

Date and time: September 8th 2014 at 9:00 A.M.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • All respective project candidates must be enrolled in Undergraduate program of any HEC recognized university/institute of Pakistan.
  • Volunteers or organizers are not allowed to participate in the competition under any circumstances.

Registration Procedure:

All interested students must go through the following steps in order to register for the Project exhibition & competition in TECHTRON’14:

  • Fill in the online registration forms with your given details while making sure no required fields are left blank.
  • Complete the registration process by visiting the TECHTRON central office located in Electronics Department.
  • After submitting your required fees and completion of the registration process, you will be notified of your registration via text or email.
  • All fees are non-refundable. Any refund requests shall be disregarded.
  • Registration fees for Project exhibition &competition shall be 1500 PKR per team and for FYP EXPO shall be 500 PKR per team
  • The project exhibition& competition i.e Hardware & Software and FYP Expo. A maximum of 4 members per group are allowed for hardware& projects.
  • Last date of registration would be August 31st 2014.
  • No forms shall be accepted after due date and failure in timely payment of registration will result in cancellation of your registration.

General Rules and Regulations:

  • On the day of competition, all participants should bring their university cards as well as the registration slips.
  • Discipline during the competition should be followed at all times. Acts of disturbance or violence of any matter will render you disqualified from the competition.
  • All the relevant details of the participants once filled in the forms will be considered final and no changes shall be made.
  • Team members from different discipline/institutes are allowed.
  • Team TECHTRON would endure no responsibility regarding any problem occurred in the hardware, software or any viruses infecting the participants’ robots.
  • Organizers reserve the right to change any rules and regulations without any prior notice. It is the job of the participants to keep in touch with the management and update themselves in this regard.
Specific Rules:
  • The competition for hardware and software projects is open for students of First year to Third year students only. The Final year students are, however, invited to display their Final Year Projects in the exhibition with the help of a poster. It should contain your university’s logo along with TECHTRON’s logo. It should also be able to convey your FYP’s main idea and its applications.
  • The Hardware and the Software projectsare separate entities and they will be judged separately.
  • Hazardous, toxic or flammable materials such as candles, burners, lighters and electrical heating devices are not allowed. Smoking is strictly prohibited within the exhibition premises.Standard laboratory safety rules will be observed.Participants may, however, bring advertising material to publicize their project.
  • No additional instruments or components will be provided by the organizers to drive or run the project. Participants are required to bring their own PC/ Laptops, speakers etc to present their projects.
  • Participants are required to submit a brief abstract regarding their project at least one week before the competition date. Be careful, sincethe team will be expected to exhibit whatever they have written in this document, and they will not be allowed to change their abstract after its submission.
  • The last date for submission of the abstract and FYP poster will be September 1st, 2014.
  • Project will be exhibited only after the approval of your abstract by the Project Approval Team.
  • Only working hardware projects will be judged for evaluation. Non-working projects will only be allowed to present themselves in exhibition.
  • If the participants have any query, they are requested to consult the moderators of the contest before the start of session as such queries will not be entertained during the contest.
  • Any team found guilty of bluffing the judges, organizers and management facultyregarding their project or performing any act that is not in spirit of fair play will be exempted from the competition.
  • All the participating teams have to submit one copy of project report (spiral bound) as well for the judges on the day of competition/exhibition.

  • Working principle
  • Future scope
    • Software project report should contain:
    • Introduction
    • Software/Platform used for development
    • Pseudo Code/Flow Chart
    • Future scope
    • At least one member of the group must be able to give project description.
    • Commercially procured kits or models should not constitute a major portion of the project.
    • Participants must set up their project, remain with it throughout the judging period and remove it at the end of the day. The Committee members are not responsible for anything that is left behind.

    Evaluation Criteria:

    • Projects will be evaluated by panel of judges related to different disciplines of engineering formed by the organizers.
    • The following table provides broad evaluation criteriawhich must be kept in mind by the students participating in the competition.

    Contribution to society

    The project should offera solution to any existing problem.

    Originality

    Project design should not be copied altogether.  Resources benefitted from must be mentioned in abstract and project report.

    Difficulty Level

    Project Teams consisting entirely of first year students shall be marked considerately.

    Degree of Completion

    How far the project meets the proposed objectives.

    Aesthetics/Presentation

    The project should not look untidy, but this will not affect judging criteria.

     

    Final Year Projects Expo:
    All Final Year Students are invited to show their Final year projects in the exhibition as the TECHTRON Project Exhibition will give a golden chance to all the upcoming engineers to explore opportunities in different areas of interest and to find potential partners for the future research. All Final year projects will also be evaluated and judged by the industrial professionals and the participants will have a chance to explore future careers.
    Participation certificates will also be given to all FYP participants.

    NOTE:

    • The decision of the judges/referee will be final and rest assured no decision shall be biased in favor of any team.
    • Certificates and lunch will be provided to all participants.
